Our Year 5 (11+) Preparation Course provides focused and structured preparation for the 11+ examinations. Across the course, students will develop their skills in English, Mathematics, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning, alongside essential exam techniques, problem-solving strategies and time-management skills. We provide regular practice and assessment to help students identify areas for improvement, strengthen their understanding and build the confidence needed to tackle a wide range of 11+ question types. Our programme is carefully designed around the requirements of the 11+ examinations made by Quest Assessments, GL Assessment, the Slough Consortium and Buckinghamshire.

Fees
A non-refundable registration deposit of £200 is required to secure and confirm your child’s place on the course. This payment reserves their place and forms part of the registration process, followed by a monthly tuition fee of £290 from 1/10/26 - 1/08/27 for 11 months. Total course fee is £3390. We are proud to offer high-quality 11+ tuition at significantly more affordable fees than many comparable providers, while still including extensive resources, books, regular practice and mock examinations within the course fee. Our aim is to provide exceptional value without compromising on the quality of your child’s preparation.
Course Duration
Our 11-month Year 5 11+ Preparation Course runs every Sunday from October 2026 to August 2027, providing students with a structured and focused programme of preparation throughout the academic year. The course is designed to develop students’ knowledge and skills across English, Mathematics, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning, while giving them regular opportunities to practise exam-style questions and develop effective exam techniques. As the course progresses, students will tackle increasingly challenging material, allowing them to strengthen weaker areas, improve accuracy and build the confidence needed for their 11+ examinations.
Lesson Structure & info
Each 3-hour lesson is structured to maximise progress, with 60 minutes dedicated to reviewing homework, addressing mistakes and targeting areas for improvement, followed by 30 minutes of reading, comprehension and vocabulary. The remaining 90 minutes focus on Mathematics, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning, alongside exam technique, problem-solving, speed, accuracy and targeted question practice, with the level of challenge progressing throughout the course.
Support at Home
To get the most from the Year 5 11+ course, consistent support at home is important. All homework should be marked at home before the next lesson, with parents/guardians encouraged to go through some of the mistakes with their child so they understand where they went wrong. Students should also complete at least 2 hours of reading each week, either independently or with a parent/guardian, using a suitable and appropriately challenging book. Parents are also encouraged to practise the weekly vocabulary lists with their child. This routine helps reinforce learning, improve reading and vocabulary skills, and support steady progress throughout the course.
